Subway Roulette is a NPC management roguelike with elements of Russian Roulette. Each round, select between two random entities with random items to join the subway. At the end of each round, one lucky entity is selected. If they are out of luck, they get sent to the tracks.
Encounter 5 NPC types with unique interactions and 9 items. Swap items or positions with entities in the subway to increase your chance of survival. How many rounds can you survive?
Project started 2/28 at 5:27pm PST - Submission to jam 3/6 at 3:58pm PST (Last Minute Update at 4:29pm PST)
Project Retrospective:
Very proud of the work we were able to get done in the 7 days we had to create the game. I am really happy with the NPC generation system and how it creates emergent gameplay experiences within the subway. I find it it surprisingly fun to synergize them with different items and strategize the best way to reduce my chances of being picked. The entire game was made in about 25 hours of work, with most of the work being done on 2 long days. Being a student I had other classes to attend to and I ended up getting mono during development which really limited the amount of time and energy I had for the project. Given another week of development, I would definitely add a tutorial and focus on the FTUE to make sure players know what is going on. Currently you are just thrown right into the action. I plan to continue working on this project to fix bugs and add new NPC types, as well as exploring round modifiers or special events that can mix things up.

Kinda feel there was a lack of gameplay elements to spice things up, or enough to move it towards the roguelike genre.
Thanks for trying my game and the feedback! I plan to continue developing the game and adding in more features, do you have any suggestions?
The key thing I noted about the game is that it didn't really feel like a Roguelike. It is essentially Russian Roulette with some chair/inventory swapping. I'm not sure you can really change that now either. There could be some randomized events though. Maybe have events happen which force things to happen during a round -
'Give up seats to the Elderly' - Wise must sit down.
'Wear a Mask' - Prevents infection from spreading.
'Police Activity' - Psychos who kill are immediately caught.
'Undead Invasion' - Fills all available slots with Undead.
